Model Making

Strengths Utilised
- Time Management
- Having to juggle multiple on-going projects meant that I needed to develop good time management skills to see them all through in a timely fashion and to a high degree of quality.
- Leadership
- Client relations and communication, effective management of the business in the absence of my employers and in helping new employees. Included the need to wear multiple hats.
- Software Expertise
- Honing my skills and taking charge in software such as Rhino 3D, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Premiere Pro.
I spent three years honing my model making skills and fabrication techniques at Make Models. I used the 3D modelling software, Rhino 3D, on a daily basis preparing conceptual designs in a digital environment in order for them to be realised in a physical form. These digitally prepared models then were fabricated using a combination of woodworking, CNC Laser Cutting, CNC Milling and 3D Printing (FDM, SLA, SLS).
During my time at Make Models, my employers left me in charge of the business while they were away. They taught me all aspects of the company, from the model-making to their contacts, to our suppliers and service providers to the financial side of the business. And in the process I was able to demonstrate my responsibility and leadership, my ability to work independently and that they were confident in my ability to keep things running.
Below is a selection of some of the models and projects that I worked on that can be shared publicly.
